Biography

robert_redford-1Actor, Director, Producer, Businessman, Environmentalist, Concervationist, Philanthropist, those are few words for Robert Redford, the American motion-picture actor, director and producer, whose blond good looks and subtle, sardonic sense of humor made him one of the biggest movie stars of the 1970s in features like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Sting (1973) and All the President’s Men (1976).

Growing into his age gracefully, he developed his acting fame into an Oscar-winning career as a director, and producer where he made a name for himself as one of Hollywood’s most respected filmmakers and his record includes Ordinary People (1980),  A River Runs Through It (1992) and Quiz Show (1994)

True to his life-time commitment to environmental and political causes he is an ardent conservationist and environmentalist, a man who stands for social responsibility and political involvement and an artist and businessman who is a staunch supporter of un-compromised creative expression.  He has become a patron saint to independent filmmakers by establishing the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute, a non-profit organization built to assist aspiring filmmakers and theater artists in developing their talent.
